Fraud prevention · WooCommerce

Stop fraud before it ships.

Score every WooCommerce order with explainable rules, behavioral biometrics, and order-graph linking. A Stripe or PayPal dispute is recorded against the order and blocklists the buyer, so linked orders score higher.

Features

Fraud scoring you can actually read

No black-box "trust score." WooFraudGuard shows the exact signals behind every decision — so you can tune the rules and defend every call.

Explainable rule scoring

Every order gets a 0–100 risk score with a line-by-line breakdown of which rules fired and how many points each added.

Behavioral biometrics

Typing cadence, paste behavior, and checkout speed flag bots and stolen-card testing that static rules miss. A paid feature, off until you opt in under Privacy settings.

Order-graph linking

Connects orders by card, device, address, and email to expose fraud rings — even when each order looks clean alone.

Disputes close the loop

A Stripe or PayPal dispute webhook records the chargeback on the order and auto-blocklists the buyer's email and device, so future linked orders score higher.

Real-time decisions

Approve, hold for review, or block at checkout based on thresholds you set — no batch jobs, no waiting.

Review queue & alerts

Flagged orders land in a dedicated queue with full context, plus optional email alerts for your team.

Under the hood

The signals it weighs

Dozens of signals across identity, payment, behavior, and network — combined into one explainable score you control.

Disposable & suspicious email domains
Billing / shipping mismatch
Device & IP reputation
Order velocity & bursts
Card-testing patterns
Datacenter & private-IP detection (VPN/proxy via optional MaxMind)
Behavioral biometrics
Linked-order graph
Prior dispute history
Custom rules via developer hook
How it works

Scored the moment checkout happens

01

Order comes in

At checkout, WooFraudGuard gathers identity, payment, device, and behavior signals in the background — no friction for real buyers.

02

Scored in real time

Your rules produce a 0–100 risk score with a full breakdown, then approve, hold, or block based on the thresholds you set.

03

Disputes close the loop

A Stripe or PayPal dispute webhook records the chargeback against the order and adds the buyer's email and device to your blocklist — so future orders linked to them score higher.

Does it add friction for real customers?

Scoring itself is silent — it runs in the background at checkout and adds no extra step. Orders that only cross the Review threshold complete exactly as normal and the shopper sees nothing; they just show up in your queue. Orders that cross the Hold or Cancel threshold are stopped at checkout, and the shopper does see an error message. You decide where those thresholds sit, so you decide how often that happens.

Are there per-transaction fees?

Never. WooFraudGuard is a flat annual licence by number of stores — score unlimited orders with no usage-based pricing.

How does the dispute feedback work?

You register a webhook once, by hand, in your Stripe or PayPal dashboard — WooFraudGuard shows you the exact URL to paste in Settings. After that, dispute-created and dispute-updated events arrive automatically: the dispute is recorded against the order, and the buyer's email and device are added to your blocklist so future orders linked to them score higher. The eventual win/lose outcome of a dispute is not tracked, and no rule weights change on their own.

Can I write my own rules?

Yes — developers register custom rules through the woofraudguard_register_rules hook, and they score alongside the built-ins. No code is needed to tune what ships: every built-in rule's weight and all three decision thresholds are editable in Settings, on every plan.

Is customer data sent to third parties?

Scoring runs on your site. Only the signals needed for device and dispute checks are exchanged with the relevant providers, and everything is documented for your privacy policy.

What happens when my licence expires?

The core rules keep scoring every order. What pauses is the premium half — behavioural biometrics, fast-checkout detection, MaxMind, chargeback history, order-graph linking, and the Stripe/PayPal dispute webhooks — along with updates and support, until you renew. Nothing is deleted; renewing switches it all back on.
