Audit & logging

Every change on your site, on the record.

A fast, clean activity log and audit trail — logins, content edits, plugin and theme changes, and settings updates, captured in one filterable timeline you can actually search. Logging is buffered and written in a single query, so it never slows your site down.

Features

A complete audit trail, without the bloat

Know who changed what, and when — across nine categories of activity, each with a readable before/after record you can filter, search, and export.

Nine event categories

Logins, users & roles, content, taxonomies, media, comments, plugins, themes, and core/settings — toggle any group on or off.

Filter, search & drill in

Filter by user, role, category, severity, and date range, search the full text, then open any event in a slide-in panel with the exact before/after diff.

Zero page-load cost

Events are buffered in memory and written in a single batched query on shutdown — logging never adds to your time-to-first-byte.

Anomaly detection

Rules flag failed-login bursts, privilege escalations, brand-new admins, mass deletions, and off-hours changes — reviewed from a dedicated queue.

Slack & email alerts

Get an email the moment a critical event fires, or post events to Slack by minimum severity and category. Both run on shutdown, never blocking a request.

Compliance-ready

GDPR IP anonymisation, configurable retention with a daily cleanup cron, optional gzipped CSV archiving, and role-scoped access to the log.

What it captures

Every signal that matters, in one timeline

Each event records the user, role, IP, timestamp, and a compact diff of exactly what changed — stored in one indexed table built for fast filtering.

How it works

Logging from the moment it activates

01

Activate & it logs

No setup required. Sensors hook into WordPress and start recording the nine event groups immediately — buffered, so there is no page-load cost.

02

Filter & investigate

Scan the log, narrow by user, category, severity, or date, and open any event to see the full before/after diff, IP, and context.

03

Get alerted & stay tidy

Route critical events to email or Slack, let anomaly rules surface the unusual, and let retention + archiving keep the table lean automatically.

Will logging slow my site down?

No. Events are buffered in memory during the request and written in a single batched query on shutdown, so logging adds nothing to your time-to-first-byte.

What exactly gets logged?

Nine categories: logins and users, content, taxonomies, media, comments, plugins, themes, core/settings, and menus/widgets — each with a compact before/after diff. You can switch any category off.

Is it GDPR-friendly?

Yes. IP addresses can be anonymised, retention is configurable with an automatic daily cleanup, and expiring events can be archived to gzipped CSV before deletion.

How are alerts delivered?

Email on critical events is included on every plan. Slack notifications — filtered by minimum severity and category — are available on the 5-Sites plan and above.

Can I limit who sees the log?

Yes. Two granular capabilities separate viewing from managing, and you can allowlist exactly which roles may view the activity log.

Does it support multisite?

This release is built for single-site installs — each site keeps its own log. A network-wide view is on the roadmap.
